    Programs that provide educational and/or therapeutic opportunities for people who are interested in or who need to learn how to deal with their anger in a positive, functional way. Participants may include people who internalize their anger as well as those who act it out verbally or in behavior toward friends, family, children, employers or other people in their lives. Included are court-ordered and voluntary programs for people who are involved in domestic violence or child abuse as well as general workshops for people who are uncomfortable with the way they express their anger.

    Addiction Treatment Services - Certified Addiction Treatment for Substances (CATS)Provides several different types of classes and programs in the area of substance or alcohol related problems such as: - Minor in Possession Class: 8-hour class offered one weekend a month on Saturday and Sunday. You must attend four hours both Saturday and Sunday to complete class. Call for next available session. - DUI Level I and II Education and Therapy: State approved 2-Hour Classes for Level II Treatment. - DUI Level I Education is offered one time a month on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Call for the next available session. - DUI Level II Education: Monday: 5pm, 5:30pm Wednesday: 9:30am, 6:30pm - DUI Level II Therapy: Monday: 7pm Tuesday: 9:30am, 5pm, 5:30pm Wednesday: 3pm Thursday: 4:30pm (Specifically for DUI offenders under the age of 21) Thursday: 6:30pm - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) 12-week program in 2-hour sessions: Mondays: 6pm Assists clients with recognizing and changing errors in thinking which lead to high risk behaviors. Offers education on stress management, toxic relationships, anxiety and depression, anger and addressing other impulsive and destructive behaviors. - Relapse Prevention 12-Week Program in 1.5 hour sessions: Wednesday: 5pm Provides informaiton on the importance of making commitments, developing life skills as well as recognizing and managing cravings to reduce or eliminate the likelihood of a return to high risk using behavior. Sessions are focused on recognizing what initially lead to relapse in sobriety and developing a plan to mitigate this behavior in the future. - Anger Management 12-week program in 1-2 hour sessions: Monday, Wednesday: 5pm Offers information specifically on recognizing angry thoughts and behaviors which can cause problems in our daily lives including landing us in legal trouble. - Domestic Violence Classes: Length of enrollment varies for each individual client, 1.5 hour sessions: Thursday: 5:30pm (women) Thursday: 7pm (men) Offers psychotherapy centered specifically around Domestic Violence. Topics address individual needs of both perpetrators and victims of domestic abuse. - Evaluations: Offer evaluations for both substance abuse and mental health.     Addressing Conflict and Anger Effectively for Adults - Conflict CenterOffers an anger and conflict management class series for adults consisting of six, 2-hour classes over a six week period that teach skills such as: - Finding ways to cool down when angry - Identifying feelings and needs when angry - Discovering realistic alternatives to arguing and fighting - Recognizing personal anger triggers - Identifying your conflict styles - Exploring ways to problem-solve using the 6-step method - Effectively negotiating with others to get needs met Certificate of completion issued on the last day of class.Denver CountyConflict CenterConflict Center
    Addressing Conflict and Anger Effectively for Youth - Conflict CenterDesigned for youth ages 11-18, Emotional Intelligence and Critical Decision Making is an 8-week skills-based curriculum specifically tailored to address concerns and difficulties youth are experiencing around making healthy decisions for themselves as well as how to recognize their emotions, especially anger, and manage them in non-violent ways.
