General Information
Description of Service
The APS Program offers protective services to AT-RISK-ADULTS.
Definition: "An individual eighteen years of age or older who is susceptible to mistreatment, self-neglect, or exploitation because the individual is unable to perform or obtain services necessary for his/her health, safety, or welfare or lacks sufficient understanding or capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions concerning his/her person or affairs."
Types of Abuse:

- Sexual Abuse
- Caregiver Neglect
- Self Neglect
- Exploitation
Reporting:
If you are concerned about a friend, neighbor or loved one in any of the above areas mentioned you are encouraged to call the Department of Human Services intake line at (970)248-2888 option 2.
The APS Program refers possible criminal activities to law enforcement and/or the district attorney for criminal investigation and possible prosecution.
