General Information
Description of ServiceProvides compensation to victims of violent crimes in Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties. Losses that might be compensated include:

- Reasonable medical and hospital expenses
- Mental health expenses
- Replacement or repair of dentures, hearing aids, eyeglasses and other medically necessary devices
- Outpatient care
- Homemaker and home health services
- Funeral expenses
- Lost wages
- Loss of support to dependents
- Rekeying vehicles for future safety
- Residential property damage, including doors, locks, windows that are on the outside of the home and damaged during the commission of a crime

EligibilityIndividuals who are:
- Victims of violent crimes
- Families and dependents of deceased victims
- Persons who are authorized to act on behalf of victims

Other eligibility, which may be waived on a case-by-case basis:
- Victimization must have occurred on or after July 1, 1982 in the 18th District
- Application must be submitted within one year from the date of the crime; six months for property damage claims. Call for other eligibility requirements.
