General Information
Description of ServiceOffers a range of civil legal services including advice, brief service, do-it-yourself clinics and full representation. Priority cases include:

- Public benefits (unemployment compensation, Medicaid, Food Stamps, TANF, child care assistance, and Social Security disability benefits)
- Housing (evictions, warranty of habitability, public housing and Section 8 issues, and utility shutoffs)
- Family (divorce, custody and paternity cases with domestic violence, child endangerment, disability, or a language barrier)
- Consumer (Chapter 7 bankruptcy, consumer rights, and collections)
- Foreclosure and homeowners rights
- ID vouchers for individuals who had a Colorado ID within the last 10 years
- ID assistance (cases with no supporting documents, names that do not match birth certificates, cases where benefits are denied due to lack of IDs, and cases needing a Driver's License as a form of ID and are not restoring a Driver's License due to violations)
- Senior law (donation based legal services for Larimer County residents age 60+ on legal issues related to Medicaid, public benefits, long term care, powers of attorney, general estate planning, landlord/tenant, and consumer issues)

Intake ProcedureCall or walk-in to schedule an appointment for all services except ID assistance. Walk-ins only for ID assistance. Visit the website for more information.
Intake RequirementsIndividuals are required to provide information about the following:
- Household income
- Assets
- Citizen/non-citizen status

If in need of non-voucher related ID assistance, individuals are required to bring the following documents:
- Birth certificates
- School records
- Social Security cards (if available)
Helpful TipsIf in need of non-voucher related ID assistance, the office will assist in completing applications that will be mailed to the Denver office for completion. This process may take 1 month to 1.5 months complete.

Colorado Legal Services does not assist with any deportation matters.

EligibilityMust meet income requirements as well as citizen or non-citizen requirements. More specifically:

- Unable to assist undocumented immigrants, unless they are a victim of human trafficking, domestic violence, or other crimes.
- Able to help individuals with documentation of legal status regardless of situation.

Some offices also assist seniors age 60 and over, regardless of income, in certain civil legal matters.
