NKF also improves patient health and well-being through the development of widely-adopted clinical practice guidelines, professional education opportunities for those who care for kidney patients, research grants that support new treatment approaches, and advocacy efforts at the state and national level that focus on protecting patients and increasing investment in kidney disease prevention and research.
MissionTo prevent kidney disease in those at risk, ensure the early detection and treatment of kidney disease in those who have it, and to provide healthcare practitioners with the necessary information, training, and infrastructure to effectively identify and manage kidney disease in all of its stages.
