General Information
Description of AgencyProvides on-call search and rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in any type of weather. Crews are sent out on rescues for injured or ill recreationalists, people who are completely lost, or have become disoriented and need help returning to their origin.
MissionTo maintain an active group of volunteers who are trained and equipped for mountain search and rescue; to promote safety in mountain recreation; and to assist anywhere in emergencies where first aid or search and rescue services are needed.
HistoryIncorporated in 1968 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, under the jurisdiction of the State of Colorado and the Routt County Sheriff's Department.
